We have begun work on blocking our scene which is turning out to be very physically violent. We have talked with Mr Brown and he said that we needed to be breathing deeply so that we can have a deeper resonance when we speak and we will not need to pause unnecessarily e.g. in the middle of sentences. I find this very difficult as it is like trying to break an addiction or habit. The deep breathing and proper inflation is so important as Joel -Othello and I have to have what seems like a shouting match centre stage, but I don't want to be shrieking my lines to the audience. I have been learning to control my breathing so that words can be said clearly with aggression and force but without speaking from my throat and having the tension in my face – I want it to come from my stomach with my lungs inflating correctly.
