Today we worked on creating soundscapes based around the two characters in Richard the 3rd; Richard, and Anne. Our group was the mocking and cynical group who used wicked laughter and our sounds to portray the character of Richard. I found it amazing that once we all came together as a group the powerful surge of energy that bounced of each other was very evident and the tension between the two groups grew. The sounds seemed to inspire a swaying movement as Richard seemed to tease Anne and taunt her with is power. The work we did today was very different to that of yesterday as when we were working with a script in mind I felt constricted to the ideas of a page. Today we were encouraged to think metaphorically and transform ideas into sounds. This freedom gave me the power to explore new noises and to ignore my rational voice inside my head.
